The Calumet Astronomy Center (Purdue University Calumet (PUC), Calumet Astronomical Society, and Lake County Parks and Recreation Department) are raising money to purchase a high-powered robotic telescope. The National Science Foundation has contributed $150,000 and PUC has contributed $50,000. To house the telescope, $100,000 is needed for the construction of the observatory at Buckley Homestead County Park in Lowell.
